Holly enjoys exploring worlds that can be imagined through manipulating elements from
the everyday. Through these exploded narrative drawings, her work collects unconscious
snippets of her thoughts, dreams and daily routines rendered in black and white. These
come together through a collision of collage and automatic drawing techniques with
altered perspectives, creating immersive, visual narratives that come to life in her large-
scale work. The Bistro realises a dreamlike scenario, a mish mash of daily occurrences that
Holly experiences. She particularly enjoys playing with movement through the use of
gestural strokes and tinkering with the orientation and direction of the image as it
emerges. Dreams and the imagination are strongly interlinked in her work and tell stories
that may be confusing or non-chronological. This is the space in which Holly’s fascination
resides.
